Aon is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to support Aon Business Services (ABS) in the Andean Subregion (Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Venezuela)

This position will report to the COO for Latin America and the Andean Subregion Head.  This role will be based in Aon's Bogotá, Colombia office

What The Day Will Look Like

As COO, you will manage Subregion operations by directing and coordinating activities and resources consistent with established goals (Latam region/subregion). You will provide the leadership, management and vision to ensure we have the proper resources, controls and systems to effectively grow the organization, excel in the services, increase operating efficiency and maintain financial strength.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sub-region ensuring accomplishment of defined KPIs, strategic initiatives and local/corporate compliance
  • Develop, in collaboration with Subregion Executive Committee and Regional ABS team, an annual operating plan that supports the Aon´s long term operations strategy
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and management of operational activities that are aligned to meet overall strategic objectives set by Subregion/Region and Global teams (revenue growth, client retention, profitability, etc)
  • Convert strategic objectives into actionable plans for performance and growth, helping to implement and achieve company-wide goals
  • Assess and manage the principal risks of the Aon´s business within operations
  • Collaborates with other SL/sub-SL leadership, where relevant, to deliver “the best of Aon”
  • Manage, lead and coach the team to ensure continual improvement in the capability, knowledge, development and performance of the team
  • Run the team’s performance management process as per company procedures and policy
  • Build inclusive and diverse teams. Foster a culture in which all employees are valued and heard
  • Motivate and inspire others, creating an environment for continuous learning and connection
  • Ensure and maintain satisfactory competitive position within the industry

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

  • 10+ years of experience leading teams and bringing impactful solutions for internal and external clients
  • Advanced or Superior English Skills – speaking, reading and writing for business
  • Genuine expertise in the field of operational excellence, transformation, project management and client service
  • Strong problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence
  • Success in prioritizing, strategizing, meeting deadlines and following up on assignments, projects and responsibilities
  • Deep connections across partners and industry groups in their sphere
  • Motivated to improve performance, while also having an investment mentality
  • Proven ability to deliver product/solution innovations
  • Proven ability to identify and retain top talent

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Technology, a related field or equivalent industry experience required
